Zephyrhills' annual fire hydrant testing was scheduled to begin Oct. 5 and is expected to be complete in December 2026. The city says the work covers more than 900 hydrants within city limits and is being handled by contractor R&M Service Solutions.
During the testing period, city water customers may notice short periods of lower pressure or slight discoloration. The city's notice says the discoloration should clear on its own.
Questions about the testing can be left with the Water Treatment Operator Desk at 813-780-0000, extension 3546. That is the project contact; the city separately directs ordinary utility billing questions to 813-780-0015.
