Free Fireworks Return to Dade City for America's 250th on July 4 — Here's What East Pasco Families Should Know

East Pasco County will cap off nearly two weeks of America 250 festivities with a free fireworks finale over John S. Burks Memorial Park in Dade City on Saturday, July 4, with the show scheduled for approximately 9 p.m. It's the closest large public fireworks display to Wesley Chapel's northeast, and — with Dade City Little League running a concession stand on site — it's built to be an easy, budget-friendly night out for families across the region.

The fireworks are the grand finale to a patriotic ceremony earlier in the evening at the Historic Pasco County Courthouse. According to Pasco County, the courthouse program runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes community speakers, live entertainment, and recognition of veterans, military members and first responders, after which guests are encouraged to head over to Burks Park for the fireworks.

Why this one matters to Wesley Chapel families

The Dade City show is part of a countywide America 250 lineup that Pasco County has been rolling out since early summer, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. For residents on the north and east sides of Wesley Chapel, Burks Park is a short drive up toward Dade City and offers a classic open-field fireworks experience: bring blankets and lawn chairs, grab food from the concession stand, and settle in.

Because admission is free, expect a crowd. Arriving early — ideally before the courthouse ceremony wraps at 8 p.m. — will give you the best shot at parking and a good patch of grass before the 9 p.m. show.

Prefer to stay closer to home? Wesley Chapel has options too

If the drive to Dade City isn't for you, two celebrations are happening right in Wesley Chapel on the same night, according to a Pasco County events roundup.

Per the county roundup, the KRATE at the Grove celebration runs from 7 to 11 p.m. and features bounce houses, mini sparklers for children, giveaways and a fireworks show beginning around 8:30 p.m. Over at Downtown Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, families can decorate bicycles, wagons and strollers for the annual patriotic bike parade, with line-up at 6:45 p.m. and the parade stepping off at 7 p.m. Awards go to the most patriotic entries.

Dade City's fireworks are the closing act of a much larger slate. According to Pasco County, the America 250 season stretched from spring into July with free events across the county — from guest speakers and mobile museums to festivals and family days — all built around the nation's 250th birthday. The July 4 date brings that celebration to a close with the biggest fireworks shows of the season.
